According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the export turnover of agro-forestry and fishery products in March 2021 is estimated 4.12 billion USD, bringing the total export value in the first 3 months of 2021 to 10.61 billion USD, up 19.7% over the same period in 2020. In which, the export value of main agricultural products is estimated 4.59 billion USD, up 10.2%; Fishery 1.69 billion USD, up 3.3%; Livestock export value 89 million USD, up 34.7%; Main forestry products 3.94 billion USD, up 41.6%.



Estimated total value of Vietnam’s agro-forestry and fishery exports in the first three months of 2021 to Asian markets (54.4% of the market share), America (32.2%), Europe (11.8%), Oceania (1.8%) and Africa (1.5%). Export value to Asian markets increased by 17.2%, reaching 5.9 billion USD; America increased by 23.4%, reaching 2.28 billion USD; Europe increased by 31.9%, reaching 462.8 million USD; Africa increased by 44.5%, reaching 10.6 billion USD; Oceania increased by 30.6%, reaching 187 million USD. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s agro-forestry and fishery export value to African markets decreased by 5%, reaching 160 million USD and Europe decreased by 2.6%, reaching 1.3 billion USD.

In the first three months of 2021, the four main export markets for Vietnam’s agro-forestry and fishery products are the US, China, Japan and South Korea, accounted for 29.05% of the market share (value increased by 45.8 % compared to 2020), 27.87% (+ 39.5%), 7.96% (+ 3.4%) and 5.7% (+ 9.5%), respectively.

Estimated value of agro-forestry and fishery imporst in March 2021 reach 3.02 billion USD, bringing the total import value of the first three months of 2021 to 7.74 billion USD, up 44.7% over the same period last year. In the first 3 months of 2021, except for the reduction of Tra fish, the import value of other agro-forestry and fishery products is estimated to increase over the same period in 2020.

Vietnam’s estimated total import value of agro-forestry and fishery products in the first 3 months of 2021 from markets in Asia (accounting for 47.4% of the market share), the Americas (29.5%), and Europe (6%), Africa (4.9%) and Oceania (5.4%) all increased over the same period in 2020. Specifically, imports from Asian markets increased by 52.9%, reaching 3.67 billion USD; America increased by 23.4%, reaching 2.28 billion USD; Europe increased by 31.9%, reaching 462.8 million USD; Africa increased by 182.8%, reaching 378.1 million USD; Oceania increased by 64.3%, reaching 414.7 million USD.

China, Brazil, the United States are the three biggest markets supplying agro-forestry and fishery products to Vietnam in the first 2 months of 2021, with the market share of the total import value reaching 14.9% (import value increased by 36.6%), 9.3% (+ 85.6%), 13.3% (+ 16.7%), respectively.
