According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, for the first 5 months of 2022, Vietnam’s coffee exports were estimated at 889,000 tons, worth over 2 billion USD; increased by 24.2% in volume and 54% in value over the same period in 2021.



Noting the situation of world coffee prices, in May, prices tended to increase again when the blockade in Shanghai City (China) was removed; Brazil’s coffee exports decreased; The demand for raw coffee for instant coffee production and roasting increased.

As for the domestic situation, near the end of May, the price of Robusta coffee in the domestic market increased by 600 VND per kg compared to April. The domestic coffee price increased because of the tendency to recover according to world prices.

In Dak Lak province, prices increased to 42,000 VND per kg; in Lam Dong province it was 41,400 VND per kg; and 41,900 VND per kg in the provinces of Gia Lai, Dak Nong ...

In the first 5 months of the year, Vietnam exported almost all types of coffee, with an increase compared to the same period in 2021, except for Excelsa coffee. In particular, Vietnam increased Robusta coffee exports to almost all traditional markets, including Germany, Belgium, Italy, Japan, and Spain.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in May alone, Vietnam’s coffee exports reached 150,000 tons, worth 343 million USD, up 15.2% in volume and 40.7% in value over the same month last year.

Also for the first 5 months of 2022, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee was estimated at 2,251 USD per ton, up 24% over the same period in 2021.
