Vietnam is still one of the world's leading countries in food, importers come to Vietnam more often in 2023, which is also a year when international organizations and partners come to work with the Ministry with the hope of wants to support Vietnam to become a rice exporting country in the current uncertain world context.
“This Festival is not a trade fair, but a showcase of the structure of a rice industry chain from seed research, science and technology, mechanization in the fields, and application of smart technology in production. and biological products and products being produced in the field”, Minister Hoan shared.

According to Mr. Ngo The Hien, Deputy Director of Planning Department, this is the first International Festival for the Vietnamese rice industry in the context that agriculture sector in general and the Vietnamese rice industry have created an image and strong impression with many notable achievements. Not only ensuring food security, Vietnam is a leading rice exporter in the world with about 6 million tons of rice each year. In the context of the current global food crisis, this achievement becomes even more meaningful.
In the first 10 months of 2023, Vietnam exported 7.3 million tons, reaching a turnover of 3.97 billion USD, up 34.9% over the same period last year. This is the right time to organize a Festival to introduce the achievements of the rice industry, the contributions of farmers, scientists, cooperatives, the business community, and the management role of the Central and local governments. direction. From there, we communicate the commitment of Vietnam's senior leaders to the world that Vietnam is a responsible country when participating in a transparent, responsible, and sustainable global food system. Through this, we mobilize international support for Vietnam to become a food innovation center in the region.
Opening ceremony of the Festival will take place at Hoa Binh Square, Vi Thanh city, Hau Giang province on the evening of December 11.
