On the evening of November 2, the opening ceremony of the 18th Vietnam Craft Village and OCOP Products Festival and Vietnam Handicraft Products Contest 2022 took place in Hanoi. Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Mr. Le Minh Hoan attended and cut the ribbon to open the even.



The 18th Vietnam Craft Village and OCOP Products Festival and Handicraft Products Contest 2022 are two main activities in the series of events "Vietnamese craft village festival 2022" organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). Vietnam Craft Villages and OCOP Products Fair is an annual industry event aimed at promoting and praising traditional craft villages, artisans and skilled workers with typical and unique products; Introducing unique models of craft villages and craft streets across the country; introducing and promoting the One Commune One Product program (OCOP), connecting the consumption of OCOP products and local specialties with traditional and modern consumption channels; Attract investment, encourage the development of cultural tourism potentials and rural industries, restore - develop professions, promote national identity; Strengthening value chain links from production to consumption, developing sustainable and environmentally friendly products; Propagating and promoting the products that won the Vietnam Handicraft Products Contest in 2022.

Minister Le Minh Hoan gave speech at the 18th Vietnam Craft Village and OCOP Products Festival

Speaking at the Fair, Minister Le Minh Hoan said emotionally: Let's look at handicraft products as the quintessence of the country, the soul of the Vietnamese people, so that Vietnam's handicraft products can be confident. put on par with products of other countries in the world.
“Vietnam has a historical tradition with thousands of craft villages, creating many products through the delicate hands of artisans. Materials can be as simple as clay, bamboo, leaves, logs... but through the talented hands of skilled artisans and craftsmen, they have become soulful products. However, in order to have a soulful product, its creator has put all his intelligence, talent, creativity and aspiration into it", the Minister emphasized.
Minister Le Minh Hoan expressed his wish that each citizen should cherish the products of the craft village, together creating an ecosystem of products of artisans and designers. The Minister believes that a team of artisans, skilled craftsmen, and handicraft designers create endless value from indigenous resources.
This year's fair has a scale of 150 standard booths and 1200m2 of specially designed display floor, displaying many agricultural, forestry and fishery products, food, food, regional specialty fruits and crafts. handicrafts from traditional craft villages and streets throughout the country. Products participating in the exhibition are guaranteed to have a clear origin, protected by geographical indications, meet OCOP standards of 3 stars or more, organic products, such as Seng Cu Lao Cai rice, Dien Bien fragrant rice, fragrant rice at Dao Long An Market, Hai Duong mung bean cake, Tan Cuong Thai Nguyen tea, Da Vi dry vermicelli, Do Luong Nghe An rice paper, Shan Tuyet Hong Thai Tuyen Quang tea, Suoi Giang Yen Bai tea, Chu noodles Bac Giang, Na Chi Lang, …
The fair also displays and introduces many handicraft products, craft villages and traditional craft streets: Bao La bamboo and rattan, Thanh Tien paper lotus, Pho Trach cushion - Thua Thien Hue, handicraft products. arts, gifts, products from Dong Thap lotus and many unique handicraft products from craft villages throughout the country.
After the opening ceremony of the festival, MARD awarded the Vietnam Handicraft Products Contest 2022 for 48 products. Specifically, 01 Grand Prize belongs to the work "Rattan and bamboo dining table" made of bamboo and rattan by author Kha Van Thuong (Nghe An); 05 First Prizes for the works: 'Hello, singing', silver-engraved by Quach Phan (Hanoi); 'Rice tree' is carved wood by author Vu Van Hoan (Hung Yen); 'Living water table and chairs' made of ceramics by author Hoang Long (Hanoi); 'A couple of cranes' by the author Le Van Nguyen (Hanoi); 'Ornamental flower pot' made of bamboo by author Ho Mai Huong (Hanoi). The organizers also awarded 10 Second Prizes; 15 Third Prizes and 17 Consolation Prizes for authors and groups of authors from all over the country./.
