With the help of Vietnamese agricultural experts, the productivity of rice, vegetables, and aquaculture in the pilot projects has increased, gradually transferring technology, contributing to supporting African countries to solve the problem of Food Security.
Besides, the trade turnover of agricultural products has also continuously increased. In 2020, the export turnover of agro-forestry and fishery products to Africa reached nearly 950 million USD, accounting for more than 30% of the total export turnover of Vietnam to Africa, with the main products being rice, coffee and seafood.
Mentioning some orientations for cooperation in the field of agriculture in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh said that the two sides should continue to strengthen South-South cooperation models (tripartite, quadrilateral, etc.) to transfer techniques, science and technology, agricultural extension in the fields of cultivation, husbandry and fisheries to support agricultural production for African countries, contributing to ensuring food security for each country.
